Overall experience for Heritage Golf Club

Without question one of the best courses in the Carolinas. With the Driving Range, large putting green, and the separate chipping green they have everything to prepare you for one of the best rounds in North Carolina Golf. I absolutely love this course. There is a very nice large club house, pro shop and the best staff in the business.

Heritage Club Wake Forest is without hesitation one of the finest courses in NC. The course setup is challenging, yet pleasurable and very aesthetically stimulating. As indicated through a course overview from David Sykes (Head Golf Professional), the course contains well over 100 traditional links style bunkers that WILL penalize you if entered.

The course also offers outstanding practice facilities, including 8K square foot putting green, driving range with various target greens, practice bunker and chipping green.

I thoroughly enjoyed playing HCWF and look forward to a follow up round in the near future.

Hitting long irons from bunkers is not an option here. 86 the sand and all is well. Hit multiple bunkers and...... flag down the beer girl!

I thorougly enjoyed my round at Heritage Golf Club. It is, without a doubt, one of the finest courses around in all aspects!

What I would like others to know about this course

Finding the fairway at Heritage Golf Club is not always easy, in most part due to the many pot bunkers located strategically in each fairway. Great layout... a must play! I'll definitely be going back.

Heritage is my home course, so I know the track well and have many positive ~ and negative ~ memories. For those unfamiliar with it, Heritage is a very playable course that offers higher handicaps a fun round from the white tees. For those who enjoy a bit more challenge, the blue tees bring many more bunkers into play and require consistency off the tee in order to score well. For the true masochists, the tips (black tees) provide a true test at 6900 yards. As others have noted, be prepared for pot bunkers...its what makes this course unique to the area and can do some serious damage to the scorecard if not played properly. The greens are typically in excellent shape, although they're kept manageable in terms of speed because of the public play.

OB on two holes...all others offer free drop out of residential areas. With that kind of charity, there's no reason not to break 85!

I really enjoyed this course. Played early in the season, track was in the process of'greening up', but still was in great shape. I found the layout and design challenging but not overly so. Pricewise, you can't beat it. Clubhouse has all you need, the staff is pleasant and the food was good. Go for it.

The pro told us about the bunkers and he was right. They're pretty much like big catchers mitts. Some are less dramatic than others, but they all can cost you a stroke as intended. My advice: stay out of the bunkers regardless of your sand game.
